NEW TUCKSHOP MENU
Now that Spring has arrived and Summer approaches, I have decided to do a bit of a ‘Summer Shake Up’ at the Tuckshop. Our Term 4 menu is attached, please be sure to READ AND PRINT ready for TUCKSHOP NEWS the start of the new term. There are a number of changes you’ll notice in the items on offer including:
some changes in sizes available
a few price changes
our brand new SUMMER SPECIALS!
NEW DAYS FOR TUCKSHOP – TERM 4
One of our biggest changes you’ll see is our trial of NEW TRADING DAYS. Please note that in Term 4 2019, St John’s Tuckshop will be open on Wednesdays, THURSDAYS and Fridays (closed Mondays and Tuesdays). All of the above changes have come after many discussions with parents, tuckshop volunteers, the P&F and Mr Rice. My main goals as tuckshop convenor are to:
create a fun and welcoming space at the tuckshop for both students and volunteers
provide the best quality food I can while ensuring prices remain affordable.
CONTAINERS FOR CHANGE
This morning at assembly we welcomed Jason from Anything Environmental, who facilitate the “Containers for Change” scheme. He talked with the children about what can and cannot be recycled for money.
As a school we have a few things happening, which were discussed at assembly:
1. We are promoting a competition for students to design a bin sticker to go on our C4C bins around the school. Information was sent home today.
2. Blue bins, similar to the red general waste bins, are now positioned around the school for students to put their containers in from lunch.
Bringing items in from home: Families are welcome to donate compatible items from home for the school to claim as a part of our program. This money will benefit the school.
You can drop them off in one of two ways:
1. Small bags of items can be placed directly into the blue bins.
2. Larger bags of items can be put in the bin bay (at the back of the tuckshop in Creek St, near the gate) for us to put into our larger bin.
The one thing we do ask, at this stage, is that you do not bring glass in for recycling as our bin is a glass free bin.
As we have done in the past, all classes will be involved in the Verse Speaking aspect of the Mackay Eisteddfod. This commences in Week 3 of Term 4.

2020 Enrolments for Prep are currently being taken for the 2020 school year. If you have a child due to commence Prep next year born July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015, please collect an enrolment package from the office. Interviews with existing families will commence at the end of Term 2. Interviews for new families will be done early Term 3.
Enrolments for Years 1—6 are also currently being taken for Semester 2 2019 and for 2020. When returning the enrolment form, please ensure there is a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate, baptismal certificate & immunisation records. It is essential that we have our current families accounted for so that we know the number of places available for new families.
