Unfortunately, there are an increasing number of families who are not paying their school fees or leaving fees unpaid from term to term. This might be due to a number of different family and financial constraints, which I understand and am willing to talk with families about how these fees can be paid.
In the long-term, however, I do not believe this is equitable. Equity, in this instance, is about ensuring that everybody makes paying of fees a priority. With everyone paying fees or making the best contribution to paying fees that they can, resources can continually be updated, professional development of teachers can continue, and facilities can be first rate.
If a family is experiencing financial difficulties but has not made contact with the school, please contact me as a matter of urgency. The school will do everything possible to support families through difficult times. I thank those families who have spoken to me about their fee payment constraints and the effort they have gone too to make payment of fees a priority.
Term Four school fees were sent out in Week 2. Please remember to use your ACCOUNT NUMBER. This can be found at the top right-hand corner of your statement. Please contact the school office and speak with me if you are having trouble paying this.
Families with outstanding fees at the end of this year are asked, as a priority, to make contact with the school to discuss a payment plan for outstanding fees.
Any fees that remain unpaid, either for continuing families, families leaving St John’s, and families of Year 6 students leaving for high school, may be referred to our debt collection agency.
2020 Enrolments for Prep are currently being taken for the 2020 school year. If you have a child due to commence Prep next year born July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015, please collect an enrolment package from the office. Interviews with existing families will commence at the end of Term 2. Interviews for new families will be done early Term 3.
Enrolments for Years 1—6 are also currently being taken for 2020. When returning the enrolment form, please ensure there is a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate, baptismal certificate & immunisation records. It is essential that we have our current families accounted for so that we know the number of places available for new families.
Our school office opens from 8:15 a.m. and closes at 3:15 p.m. Monday to Friday. Our office staff work the following days:
Sharon Andersen (Administration secretary): Monday to Thursday
Judy McNichol (Finance secretary): Wednesday to Friday.
Further, our phone system is operational from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Outside of these times the phone system will be diverted to message bank.
